The Proprietor
Proprietor Karen Lucas was inspired to create a European-styled patisserie
and café after several trips abroad. An accomplished cook, she
hopes to develop a business that would provide her with a creative outlet,
while at the same time challenge her entrepreneurial interests.
Petit Fours (opened in March of 2006) is modeled after many of the small
patisseries and cafés she visited while overseas. The name literally
translated from French means “small ovens;” however, in France
the term is more commonly used to describe a sweet that can be eaten in
2-3 bites. From the beginning the name Petit Fours fit, as Karen wanted
to feature smaller, European-sized portions of food.
The tag line, “Chic. Simple. Delicious.” seems to beautifully
sum up both the concept and the result!
